Terms of service
The short version: Don't abuse the app. Don't expect FARAH to be a substitute for professional dietary advice or food safety judgment. Subscribe for $4.99/month or $39.99/year, cancel anytime. We're not liable for kitchen mishaps.
Using FARAH
By installing and using FARAH, you agree to these terms. The app is provided as-is. We're independently operated, not a giant company.
What FARAH is and isn't
FARAH is an AI-powered recipe suggestion app. It identifies ingredients from photos and generates recipe ideas based on your preferences.
FARAH is not:
- A substitute for medical or dietary advice. If you have allergies, dietary restrictions, or health conditions, always verify ingredients independently.
- A food safety expert. AI can misidentify spoiled ingredients or miss safety concerns. Use your own judgment.
- A guarantor of recipe accuracy. AI-generated recipes may contain mistakes — measurements, techniques, or steps may need adjustment.
Pricing and subscriptions
FARAH offers a free tier (3 recipe generations, no payment required) and two paid subscription plans:
- Monthly: $4.99/month, auto-renewing, cancel anytime.
- Annual: $39.99/year, auto-renewing (saves 33% vs monthly).
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep access until then.
Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings. We do not handle cancellations directly.
Purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. Refund requests must go through them.
Free unlock codes for users in Gaza are issued via email request and have no expiration.
The donation pledge
We pledge to donate 10% of FARAH subscription revenue to Ouena, a Palestinian-American 501(c)(3). This is a voluntary commitment we hold ourselves to, not a contractual obligation between you and Ouena. Tax deductibility, if any, would depend on your jurisdiction and how Ouena issues receipts to us — your subscription to FARAH is not directly deductible by you.
Daily limits
Even Pro users are subject to a daily safety cap (currently 50 generations per 24 hours) to prevent abuse. This is reset daily.
Acceptable use
Don't:
- Reverse engineer the app, the proxy, or our AI integration.
- Try to extract API keys, model details, or proprietary prompts.
- Submit illegal, harmful, or abusive content.
- Attempt to bypass usage limits through technical means.
- Resell or redistribute FARAH content as your own product.
Intellectual property
FARAH's name, branding, and code are ours. Recipe content generated by the AI is yours to cook, share, and post — go for it. If you screenshot the app and share online, attribution is appreciated but not required.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FARAH is not liable for damages arising from use of the app, including but not limited to: cooking mishaps, allergic reactions, recipe inaccuracies, missed dietary restrictions, or app downtime.
Termination
We can suspend access to FARAH for users who abuse the app or violate these terms. If we shut FARAH down entirely (we hope not), Pro users won't be entitled to refunds beyond what Apple/Google's policies dictate, but we'll give as much notice as we can.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
